1. How can I add a co-host on my listing?

If you need a little extra support hosting your space, you can add a family member, neighbor, or trusted friend to help with the logistics.

To add a co-host:

  • Go to Listings and select the listing you want to update
  • Click Co-hosts and click Invite a friend
  • Enter their email address and click Invite

You can add up to three co-hosts per listing. Just make sure your listing is live before you try to add them. By adding co-hosts, you agree to the Co-host Terms of Service.

2. What is a co-host?

Co-Hosts help listing owners take care of their home and guests. They're often a family member, neighbor, trusted friend, or someone the Host has hired to help with the listing. Hosts can always contact co-hosts by phone or email.

Hosts and Co-Hosts need to communicate well and be clear about:

  • Hosting responsibilities: Who does what
  • Earnings: How much of the booking income goes to the Co-Host
  • Expenses: How the Co-Host will be reimbursed

There are several ways to share hosting responsibilities.

3. What can a co-host do?

Co-Hosts can be so more than an extra set of hands—they can also be a primary Host for the listing. They can help a listing owner with all aspects of hosting, including caring for the space and the guests.

Co-Hosts can help

  • Create a listing: Co-Hosts can manage the listing—write titles and descriptions, take and upload photos, and determine pricing.
  • Update calendar and pricing: Keep a listing’s availability up-to-date and manage the listing’s price settings, including seasonal pricing and weekly discounts
  • Manage bookings: Accept or decline trip requests
  • Message with guests: Get to know guests, answer questions, and coordinate arrival and departure on behalf of the listing owner
  • Get the space guest-ready: Help make sure the home is set up to welcome guests, including outfitting it with all the amenities.
  • Welcome guests in person: Greet guests, give them a tour of the space, and answer questions about the location
  • Help guests during their stay: If guests have an issue during their stay, Co-Hosts can communicate with them and fix the problem. For example, a guest is locked out or the Internet is down.
  • Write reviews: Co-Hosts can use their own Resortifi account to write guest reviews on behalf of the listing owner
  • Cleaning and maintenance: Work with a professional cleaning service, clean the space yourself, or both. You can also handle general home maintenance and repairs.
  • Get support from Resortifi: Need help with a booking or guest issue? Co-Hosts can handle the communication and find a resolution.
  • Resolution Center requests: Co-Hosts can send or request money from guests for things related to a Resortifi trip through the Resortifi Resolution Center.

Just be aware, Co-Hosts are not permitted to access the listing owner’s payout or taxpayer information.

If you decide you don't want your Co-Host to have access to the above tasks, you can just remove them as a Co-Host.

4. What is the difference between co-host and hosting team?

There are two ways to get support hosting on Resortifi: Hosting teams and Co-Hosts.

  • A hosting team manages a place on behalf of the renter or owner, including their online listings and guests. The team may be a business or group of people the owner has a legal contract with.
  • Co-Hosts are more casual—like friends or family members who cover for you sometimes. You can have up to 3 per listing.

How they’re presented to guests?

  • Hosting teams: The account owner is always shown as the primary Host on a listing
  • Co-Hosts: The account owner is the primary Host by default but may designate a Co-Host to be listed as the primary Host

Access and permissions

-Hosting teams: Team members may be able to access your transaction history and perform other in-depth functions, provided they’re granted those permissions by the account owner.

-Co-Hosts: All your Co-Hosts have the same limited set of permissions, and they never have access to your transaction history.

5. How can I set up a hosting team??

Creating a hosting team is a great way to manage listings and keep things running smoothly.

To get started, you must be using professional hosting tools and have an account with 6 or more listings.

Set up a team

  • Go to Team and click or tap Set up your team
  • Confirm that you are the account owner
  • Enter and confirm your information
  • Add details about your team
  • Agree to terms and click Create team

Team management

Once the team is set up, you’ll need the proper permissions assigned to you to perform the actions below, unless you’re the account owner.

Add a team member

  • Go to Team and click or tap Invite
  • Enter a team member’s email address
  • Click or tap Add
  • Click or tap Send invite

The team member will receive an email inviting them to join, which they’ll have 7 days to accept. You can resend an invite if it expires.

Remove a team member

When you remove a team member, they’ll still have a Resortifi account, but they won’t have access to your team account or its listings. This is a permanent step. If they want to join again, the account owner will have to resend the invitation.

  • Go to Team and click or tap the team member’s name and an info panel will be shown
  • Click or tap Remove team member
  • Confirm the action

Change permissions

By checking a box in the permissions columns, you can turn on and off team member access.

  • Go to Team
  • Go to the team member and type of permission you want to change
  • Click or tap the checkbox to add or remove the permission set for that team member
  • The change is saved automatically

Deactivate your team

If you want to remove the entire team and its members from the account, you can permanently deactivate it. You’ll need to create a brand-new team if you want to use the teams tool again.

  • Go to Team and click or tap Settings under your team name
  • Click or tap Deactivate team
  • How co-hosting factors in

You can't be both a Co-Host and a team member. Want to switch up your role? Here’s how:

Going from co-hosting to a hosting team

If you’re the account owner of a listing with Co-Hosts but not a Co-Host yourself, you may create a team and add team members. But if you’re a Co-Host, you must remove yourself as such from all listings in order to join or create a team.

Going from a hosting team to co-hosting

To become a Co-Host, you must first leave your hosting team. If you’re the account owner of a hosting team, you must deactivate the team.

6. How can I remove a co-host from my listing?

  • Go to Listings and select the listing you want to edit
  • Click Co-Hosts
  • Find the Co-Host you wish to remove, then click Remove

Once you remove a Co-Host, they won’t be able to edit your listing, manage trip requests, or read or respond to messages. You’re still responsible for current or future requests, including those accepted by the Co-Host.

7. How can I remove the hosting team from my listing?

As an account owner, you control who can access the listing permissions. You can remove a hosting team from a listing that you previously gave them access to manage.

  • Removing a hosting team
  • G o to your Listings and select the listing you want to change
  • Click or tap Hosting support
  • Next to the name of your hosting team, click or tap Remove
  • Add a message to let your hosting team know why you’re removing their access
  • Click or tap Remove access

Once you remove your hosting team’s listing access, they can’t manage the listing anymore. Make sure you communicate what’s happening to your hosting team and be ready to support any existing bookings, including communicating with guests and checking them in.
